Explain why you chose the University of Miami as the preferred school for you to attend.

Campus Culture. From the minute I stepped foot on campus I was convinced it was great to be a Miami Hurricane and I had to experience it for myself.

Describe your fondest memory or experience as a student.

My fondest memory as a student was getting to shake the hand of President Obama when he came and spoke at the University during the 2012 campaign cycle. The opportunity to see a sitting president was amazing and one not many people can claim.

What do you want your legacy to be as a Miami Hurricane?

I want my legacy as a Cane to be Students For Education Reform. I helped found the club my freshman year and I have been devoted to the cause of education reform ever since. Education is one of the greatest civil rights struggles of our time and the key to our nation's future success.

Why is it important for alumni to give back to the University of Miami?

It's important for alumni to give back to the U because without their donations many students could never have the opportunity to attend this institution. I personally wouldn't have been able to attend UM without the financial support of an alumni-funded scholarship.

Who or what is your favorite professor or course?

Dr. Diem, Sociological Foundations of Education

What are you career aspirations or where will you be working once you graduate?

I aspire to represent students of color from low-income backgrounds in policy discussions and debates. I want to be in a position to ensure each child in this country receives a quality education regardless of race or socioeconomic status.
