Where are you from?

I was born in Miami, Florida and spent the majority of my life living in Weston, Florida. My nationality is Vietnamese.

Are you a scholarship recipient?

Yes, I am a Ronald A. Hammond Scholar.

Explain why you chose the University of Miami as the preferred school for you to attend.

The University of Miami was always seen as a prestigious school that surpassed most schools in a short amount of time. The resources available are incredible and the location is perfect. I also wanted to be close by to my family in case they ever needed my help.

Describe your fondest memory or experience as a student.

My fondest memory has to be the first time I came to campus. Everyone was extremely helpful and everyone on my floor went out of their way to get to know each other.

What do you want your legacy to be as a Miami Hurricane?

I have always strived to inspire others to take new opportunities and chances. A person can never truly know whether he/she likes something unless he/she tries it. I also inspire others to spread diversity and to reach outside of a clique.

Why is it important for alumni to give back to the University of Miami?

The University of Miami has a strong alumni presence that embodies a strong familial culture. This culture allows UM to not only be distinguished among other schools, but also allows for an abundance of resources for the new students. Someday, I plan to give back to UM by offering opportunities for shadowing or mentoring.

Who or what is your favorite professor or course?

My favorite professor has to be Dr. Myers. He always challenges students to think outside the box and to truly understand how the body works. He is extremely inspiration and I am truly indebted to him for everything he has taught me not only in science but in life.

What are you career aspirations or where will you be working once you graduate?

After I graduate, I plan to attend Graduate School for a year to pursue my MPH or MBS degree. After Graduate School, I plan on pursuing my M.D./D.O. and becoming a doctor.
